16 Apr: Healing from ancestral sin (generational iniquity)

Imagine my surprise when talking with Andrew Stroud (world champion motorcycle racing royalty) to find a deeply spiritual man beneath the helmet. Andrew’s life experience involves healing from ancestral sin that we can learn a lot from. Andrew’s story vividly illustrates the effect that ancestral sin (generational iniquity) had on him, how those chains were supernaturally broken, and the difference it made in his life and family.

17 Feb: The ugly truth about relationships… and God’s original plan for them

“Mr ******, you are hereby sentenced to six years imprisonment for being found guilty of blah blah blah…” the courtroom began to fade to black and my legs turned to jelly. And this wasn’t even my prison sentence! It would have been easier if it had been mine. Shock set in as I watched my partner being led away to begin his lag. Living on the dark side with a hole in my heart was problematic. Every time my partner went to jail, I felt like my world had been sucked into a gigantic black hole leaving only festering pain in its wake, and an empty shell of a person…

26 Jul: The burning question

Back in the day, when I was stoned off-my-face, my mental jaywalks often took me to sit beside the most niggling of big and lumpy questions. I’d say “Hi”, poke it and prod it, and try to make it my friend so it would talk to me. I wanted answers. One in particular, to Monte Python’s burning question, “What is the meaning of life?” Seriously! The more wasted I got, the closer I felt to THE ANSWER (so I thought), so I went hard until my brain and ears were audibly buzzing. I’d snuggle closer and closer to the question, getting glimpses of truth and meaning until one day I finally laid…

01 Jul: The breath before the trumpet blows

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4 (NKJV) paraphrased Now, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, do not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God….

06 May: Freedom By Degrees

I tossed up long and hard whether to include this story in my memoir The Wild Side… and chose not to at the time. However, time has passed and I am now able to share it… Over coffee with a lady one day I listened to her lamenting about her sons not having made the most of their lives. Despite having given them everything money could buy, they were plagued with addictions, the inability to make good choices, and lack of vision and purpose. As a new Christian I had plenty of zeal but little wisdom, and shared the insight I had as to the reason why. “It’s because of the…
